    • Budget Savvy Diva

Yay!! I am so glad. It is one of my favorites as well.

  • karen Carter

Your photo shows 8 ox cream cheese but the recipe calls for 3 oz. Just wanted to confirm the amount before i make this for Easter! Thank you

    • Budget Savvy Diva

Yes it is 3 oz — I always post the product full before use.

  • Danielle Swanson

Do you have to put this in the oven and if so, at what temperature do you cook it at?

    • Budget Savvy Diva

No you do not put it in the oven

  • Erin Rueff

I am going to try and prepare this before going to church this morning and I ws going to attempt to put it in the crockpot. Do you think that it will work if I just cook it and then put it in there on the warm setting? Thanks for the recipe!

    • Budget Savvy Diva

That should work – all you are doing is heating the ingredients together

    • Kim O

My husband has been making this for years just without the pepper flakes. He seasons with salt and pepper. He always makes it in the crockpot and lets it cook for a while and meld together. Yummy! Make sure to use a crock pot liner for easy clean up!

  • Lindsey

Great recipe and easy to make! I made this yesterday for Easter and it was a big hit…who knew a simple corn dish could be a big deal? Everyone loved the subtle addition of “heat” the red pepper flakes brought to the dish. Thanks for sharing this recipe 🙂

  • jillb

My family has been making this recipe ( without the red pepper) for generations! It is a staple for family holiday tables!

I just made this! Wow! I didn’t have quite enough corn, so I used peas, too. Delicious.

    • Budget Savvy Diva

I am so glad you liked it 🙂 It is so simply but SO good

  • Wendy Riddel

Hi, just made this tonight and everybody loved it. I changed the red pepper flakes to sumac and the sharpness of that really hit the palette along with the sweetness of the sweetcorn.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

I’m going to try this soon. I got all the ingredients. I don’t have a scale though. How many cups would u say 1 lb of corn is? I’m planning to just put 2 cups. Is that about right?

    • Vanessa

      A lb is 16 oz… A cup is 8 oz, so a lb is 2 cups! 🙂

      • Me

A cup is a measure of volume, not weight ( 1 cup=8 oz water using a liquid measuring cup). For other liquids and solids, the measurement is a function of volume, not weight (1 cup of feathers does not equal 8 oz but it still equals 1 cup in volume). Just be aware of this, otherwise you may end up with the wrong proportions.

I have been making this for years and we love it. The only thing I do differently is use white corn! It makes for a beautiful, sort of monotone- colored dish and everyone is intrigued when they see it and everyone asks for the recipe. Thanx for sharing.

  • Sam

My kind of recipies! Easy, cheap, and YUMMY!! Thanks!

My mom and I have been making this for years. We had a little sugar to the Butter and cream cheese. He also add like a 1/2 stick of real butter and a whole pkg of cream cheese. Its amazing. I am going to try it without the cream cheese and see if my son likes it better. He is the only one that its not his favorite.

  • Leslie

  • heidi

This was delicious and so simple! Thanks!

  • debby

I add a small can of diced green chilis to this corn recipe instead of red pepper flakes, have also added powdered sugar. My family loves it either way!!

  • Jaimi

This is so much better than standard “cream” corn! I loved the red pepper flakes as well. Gave it a nice bit of heat.

  • surkhab

I love corn and this recipe is so simple and easy to make. tomorrow,I am going to make this corn dish for my Iftar….

  • Amanda

I make a similar dish using rotel and it is delicious.
I’d also like to point out that you’re still not getting your husbands to eat veggies by making this dish. Corn is a grain!! Not a vegetable.
