Diwali / Deepavali
Diwali/Deepavali is a festival light. There are many stories associated with why the festival is celebrated. Common in all of the stories is, celebration of good over evil. Festival is celebrated with arranging row of lights all around the house.
Food is always an integral part of any celebration. It is customary to prepare savory and sweet items before Diwali and distribute among friends and family. All the items are non perishable and have a self life of at least a week.
Here are some savory and sweet Diwali recipes for this festive season. In the Diwali round up I included both baked and deep fried recipes along with some sweet recipes.
