This Sweet and Spicy Pork Tenderloin is my new go to. Everyone in my family raves about this tenderloin, and tell me it is the BEST they have ever had. I can't say I disagree. It is so tender, moist, and full of juicy flavor.
Pork tenderloins are one of my favorite cuts of meat to work with because they always turn out so juicy and flavorful.
This meal comes together in a matter of minutes and has such a delicious flavor. My kids loved it and I hope your family will too.
how to make your pork tenderloin juicy
The key to making a tenderloin juicy, is letting it do it’s thing. The worst thing you could do is cut into a pork tenderloin, halfway through cooking. This won’t allow the juices in the pork to cook the meat. It will dry it out.
Don’t check the pork tenderloin until it has reached it’s cooking time according to the recipes instructions.
It’s also helpful to have it cook around some juices. This is important when picking a marinade and a rub. I usually go for both. I put a little bit of juice in the bottom, as well as a a season for the pork.
If you are cooking in a slow cooker, be sure to keep the lid on. Letting out the moisture, will also cause your pork tenderloin to get dry.
My last tip, is don’t let it cook past cooking time instruction.
People often overcook a pork tenderloin. If you follow the recipe, or any pork tenderloin recipe, you may want to remove it from the oven a few minutes earlier.
Some pork meats, tend to cook pretty quickly so every minute counts. You could also use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. It should be 145 degrees F.
what to serve with a pork tenderloin
When serving a pork tenderloin, it’s good to put foods that have a bit of sauce to them. My husband loves a good mashed potato and gravy with his pork tenderloin.
His favorite mashed potatoes are our Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes. I usually buy a jar of pre-made gravy, just to make my life a little easier. But you could easily make your own with the juice remains after cooking.
My husband and I are also loving cooked carrots lately. Our favorite recipe is our Orange Glazed Carrots. They are so easy to make and taste amazing.
If you are looking for a fruity side dish, I would highly recommend trying our Frog Eye Salad (aka Acini de Pepe salad).
can i make this in a slow cooker?
This recipe could most definitely be made in a slow cooker. We still recommend browning the pork tenderloin, as directed in the recipe, but place it in a sprayed, slow cooker, then pour the sauce on top.
